Christmas Outdoor Cinema at Fed Square showing festive films

Christmas Outdoor Cinema at Fed Square – four nights of festive double features under the stars.

Introduction

Christmas Outdoor Cinema returns to Fed Square with a four-night program of festive double features – pairing wholesome family favourites (“Nice”) with cult Christmas chaos (“Naughty”). Whether you’re in the mood for heartwarming joy or gleeful mayhem, there’s a film for every kind of Christmas spirit.

Event Overview

Across four evenings, settle in with friends, family or your favourite film-loving mate for a cinematic mixed bag that swings from the cosy to the bizarre. Each night begins with a family-friendly Christmas hit, followed by a cheeky or off-beat classic under the night sky.

Expect Christmas cheer, Christmas fear, and everything in between.

Christmas Outdoor Cinema is presented by Fed Square and proudly supported by United Airlines.

Program

🎄 Monday 8 December – Christmas Chaos

Nice: The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (2000)

6:00 pm | 1h 45m | PG
Jim Carrey stars as the world’s grumpiest green Christmas saboteur in this live-action take on Dr Seuss’s classic tale. When the Grinch plots to ruin Christmas in Whoville, young Cindy Lou Who reminds him what the season is really about.

Naughty: Gremlins (1984)

8:00 pm | 1h 46m | M
A Mogwai, three simple rules and complete festive mayhem. A cult Christmas horror-comedy that proves why you should always read the label before gifting a mysterious creature.

🎅 Tuesday 9 December – Santa Stories

Nice: Klaus (2019)

6:00 pm | 1h 36m | PG
An Oscar-nominated animated jewel about an unlikely friendship that sparks a new story of Santa Claus. Heartfelt, beautifully animated and adored by families worldwide.

Naughty: Krampus (2015)

8:00 pm | 1h 38m | M
When Christmas spirit disappears, Krampus comes calling. A dark comedy-horror where holiday traditions turn monstrous as a dysfunctional family battles ancient folklore.

🎁 Wednesday 10 December – Christmas Comedies

Nice: Elf (2003)

6:00 pm | 1h 37m | G
Will Ferrell’s Buddy the Elf brings wide-eyed joy to New York City in this modern classic about belonging, family and the world’s most enthusiastic elf.

Naughty: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1987)

8:00 pm | 1h 37m | M
Clark Griswold attempts the “perfect family Christmas”. Predictably, everything goes wrong. Light-strung chaos, slapstick disasters and holiday mayhem ensue.

⭐ Thursday 11 December – Heartwarming Holidays

Nice: It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)

6:00 pm | 2h 10m | PG
A timeless Christmas favourite about the profound impact one person can have on their community. James Stewart shines in Frank Capra’s beloved classic.

Naughty: The Holiday (2006)
