Introduction
Christmas Square turns Fed Square into the heart of Melbourne’s festive celebrations. From 28 November to Christmas Day, the Swanston Street Forecourt becomes a sparkling destination for families, visitors and anyone chasing that city Christmas mood.
Event Overview
The centrepiece of Christmas Square is the spectacular 17.5-metre LED Christmas tree, lighting up the city skyline each evening. Around it, the forecourt is lined with giant candy canes, twinkling decorations and plenty of space to gather with friends and family.
Plan your visit to coincide with the nightly on-the-hour sound and light show, when the tree comes to life with music, colour and festive animations. It’s an easy, free way to build some Christmas magic into a city visit, whether you’re coming in for shopping, a show or dinner.
