From 7 to 28 February 2026, Open Air Live Music at the Square brings together original artists, ambient soundscapes and global beats — all set beneath Melbourne’s night sky.

Expect candlelit intimacy, expansive performances and a program that moves effortlessly from laid-back listening to full-bodied dancefloor energy.

Garage Band

Saturday 7 February, 5pm–7.30pm | Main Square

A one-day showcase celebrating Victoria’s next generation of musicians, Garage Band returns for its fourth year. This free talent quest puts emerging artists front and centre, turning the Square into a platform for fresh sound and raw creativity.

Candlelight Concerts

Tuesday 10, 11 + 12 February, 8.30pm–9.30pm | Main Square

Intimate outdoor concerts illuminated by candlelight across three summer evenings. Featuring Australian icon Tina Arena, Melbourne indie favourites Folk Bitch Trio and rising R&B artist Dean Brady.

Nongkrong – Pasar Senja (Twilight Fair)

Saturday 14 February, 3pm–10pm | Main Square

A Valentine’s Day celebration of contemporary Indonesian culture, Nongkrong returns with food, music, dance and community. A lively twilight fair that invites you to linger, explore and connect.

Silent Cinema with Live Scores

Monday 16 – Friday 20 February, 8pm | Main Square

A weeklong open-air cinema experience pairing silent film classics with live musical scores. From Chaplin and Keaton to Wu Yonggong and Jean Epstein, films are reimagined through performances by leading DJs and composer-musicians.

Afro Caribbean Carnival

Saturday 21 February, 6pm–11pm | Main Square

A free, high-energy dance party driven by booming sound systems and global rhythm. Featuring local legends alongside international icons Sister Nancy and General Levy, this is a night built for movement.

City Sessions Street Dance Battle

Saturday 21 + Sunday 22 February | The Edge + Main Square

The battle returns. Crews from across Australia and Southeast Asia converge for a showcase of contemporary street dance culture, with big beats, bold moves and serious competition.

The Beatles Dub Club

Thursday 26 February, 7pm–8pm | Main Square

DJ Chris Arnold brings his globally celebrated Beatles Dub Club to Fed Square. Expect covers, remixes and reworks that spin the Fab Four into unexpected territory.

Big Freedia + Friends

Friday 27 February, 7pm–10pm | Main Square

Direct from New Orleans, the Queen of Bounce headlines a massive celebration of LGBTQIA+ hip-hop and queer culture. Expect high-octane energy and a crowd-ready soundtrack.

François K | Σtella | Ganavya Live

Saturday 28 February, 6pm–9.30pm | Main Square

A transcendent closing night featuring house-music pioneer François K, Greek pop innovator Σtella, and genre-blending vocalist Ganavya, drawing from classical Indian and jazz traditions.
